As budget travelers who want to see it all, but also go home to a quiet spot after a day of filming, we found Ikebukuro to be the ideal base for our three-week vacation in Tokyo, offering a perfect mix of excitement and convenience.

Hakata Furya Ramen One cannot explore Ikebukuro without indulging in its culinary treasures, and at the top of our list was our favorite type of Japanese Ramen: Hakata Style. Hakata Furya Ramen has multiple locations around Tokyo, and lucky for us, one just a 7 minute walk from out Airbnb. Nestled within cozy eateries and bustling streets, this savory delight captivated our taste buds with its rich broth, signature from, straight noodles, and flavorful toppings, offering a true taste of Japanese comfort food.

Sunshine City For those craving a bird's-eye view of Tokyo's sprawling landscape, Sunshine City stands tall as a beacon of excitement. Housing an array of attractions, shopping boutiques, and entertainment venues, this iconic complex boasts an exhilarating observation deck that offers panoramic vistas of the cityscape below, including glimpses of the majestic Mount Fuji on clear days. It is home to one of the world's fastest elevators ascending 600metere/minute, launching you 60 stories high in just 20 seconds! Sunshine City also hold the world's largest Pokemon Store: Pokemon Mega Center. Complete with arcade, trading card station, Go-Lab, souvenir shop and cafe!
